“Culture Clash” For teens
Journey around the world, creating ceramic art inspired by foreign cultures. Sculpt an Indian Elephant, a Japanese Dragon, Pueblo Pottery and more.

“Creature Double Feature" For grades 1 – 5
Create animals, Gargoyles and monsters using various hand-building techniques. This class is all about the details. Six Sundays, February 21st – March 28th 10:30 – noon.

“Inside Out”
For Middle School ages
Make buildings, Gardens and funky rooms. This class is all about the space we live in. Learn several building and surface decorating techniques. Six Tuesdays from 3:00 – 5:pm February 23rd – March 30th

“Thursday Nights DROP IN CLASSES" & “Friday DAY class” Walk in! Open to adult students

“Saturdays Wheel-throwing for beginners” w/ David Harrington

“Backsplash Building” with Ellen Blomgren
Creating a Backsplash/Mural: Students can expect to complete a large
tile installation. Learn relief sculpting techniques, glaze finishes and gluing/grouting tips. Instructor: Ellen is a professional ceramic artist. She owns Mudstone Studios in Warren, RI, offering workshops and communal workspace. She is an artist/educator on the VSA and RISCA rosters and RISD CE instructor. “Wheel-throwing for beginners”
Beginners' Wheel-Throwing: This is an introduction to wheel-throwing. Learn to prepare the clay, center, pull a cylinder and glaze finished pieces. Students can expect to complete several simple pieces from clay to glaze. Leigh-Ann Ramieri graduated from RI College in 2008 with her BA in Studio Art. Warren Arts Camp
A collaboration between Mudstone Studios and Warren Art Spot
Drop-off and Pick-up locations will be provided after registration.
Dates: July 12-23, 2010
Ages 5-8: 9am - 12noon
Ages 9-14: 1-4pm

Come experience a variety of art in this unique 2 week program. Each morning and afternoon session will be split between the Warren Art Spot and Mudstone Studios which are conveniently located just a short walk from one another. At the Warren Art Spot you’ll spend your time exploring painting, drawing, sewing, and making a variety of arts and crafts projects. At Mudstone Studios you’ll be guided through several different hand-building techniques to make sculpture and pottery. Pieces will be fired in the kiln and students will glaze them to create beautiful pottery. All materials are non-toxic and kids can expect to create 5-6 projects from start to finish. Instructors will walk with the students from one studio to another.
